Description

Start of the journey: The adventure begins with a meeting in the city center, where a local guide will take you for a walk along Banana Street, the oldest paved street in Africa. Here, visitors will be able to admire the colonial houses, with their colorful facades and unique architecture. Visit to the Royal Fortress of St. Philip: The group will then be taken to the imposing Royal Fortress of St. Philip. Built in the 16th century to protect the city from pirate attacks, the fortress offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Old Town. It's the perfect place to take photos and learn about the historic battles that shaped the region. Nossa Senhora do Rosário Church: After visiting the fortress, the group will head to Nossa Senhora do Rosário Church, the oldest colonial church in the world. With its late Gothic architecture and interior full of historical details, it is a living testimony to the faith and resilience of the island's inhabitants. Lunch and tasting of local products: The next stop will be at a typical restaurant, where visitors can enjoy a traditional Cape Verdean meal. Dishes such as cachupa, grilled fish and local sweets will be served, accompanied by grog, the famous sugar cane brandy. Ribeira Grande and Pelourinho: The walk continues to Ribeira Grande, where visitors will have the opportunity to see the Pelourinho, a monument that symbolizes colonial justice and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guide will explain the historical and cultural importance of this site. Archaeology Museum: Finally, the visit includes a visit to the Archaeology Museum, where artifacts and archaeological finds are on display that tell the story of the island's first inhabitants and the cultural influences brought by the colonizers. End of Activity: The journey ends with free time to explore the city and shop for local souvenirs, before returning to the original meeting point.
