Get picked up from your accommodation in Praia, then head to the historic center of the Plateau and begin the walking tour from Santa Maria Fort. Take stunning pictures from the top surrounded by big cannons installed to protect the city from pirate attacks. Continue to the Jaime Mota Military Barracks, passing by the Presidential Palace and Alexandre Albuquerque Square. At the Municipal Market (closed on Sundays), meet the locals and find a variety of local fruits and vegetables. Next, explore Cape Verde's largest flee market, the Sucupira Market.
