Luciano welcomes you to Cafe Cultural--fantastically located in the heart of the main square of Santa Maria. Breakfast, Lunch, and Evening meals are served.

This wonderful, breezy, open air cafe on the main square is the place to chill. Imagine sitting at a shaded table, having a cool drink while a fresh breeze from the beach sweeps in! Then take in the scenery of the main square or people watch while enjoying some Cape Verdean music.

You can start your day at the cafe with a delicious continental style breakfast--a fresh Croissant roll accompanied by fresh orange juice and a plate of fresh fruit. Or, if you prefer a more English style breakfast you can choose from sausage, beans, and eggs. Try a Capuccino, Espresso, or perhaps something a little stronger like a Cafe Grogue to kick start your day.

For a substantial lunch or just a refreshing snack choose from the cafe's extensive menu--grilled fish, pasta, Creole dishes, and more. Thirst quenchers include fruit cocktail smoothies or maybe you'd like to try a Caipirinha, the adopted traditional drink of Brazil, a crushed ice mixture of raw sugar, lime, and Cachaca (sugar cane rum). Delicious and cool!

You are in for a treat when having an evening meal at Cafe Cultural. The main square comes alive as the center of activity--a great place to watch Cape Verdean life, watch children play, or listen to live music.

The evening menu offers a taste for everyone. Try the fresh fish--Tuna, Wahoo, or Grouper or for meat lovers you can choose from African style chicken, tasty spare ribs, or meatballs. A delicious and local specialty is the national dish of Cape Verde, Cachupa Rice.

There is a wide choice of international wines to accompany your meal, including wine from the volcanic Island of Fogo, the local beer Strela, and of course, Luciano's own brand of Grogue which must be tried while on holiday in Cape Verde.

End your meal with a yummy desert--pineapple flambe, coconut pudding, chocolate mousse, or fresh fruit.
