Leonardo's, situated just off the main tourist street of Santa Maria, is one of the finest restaurants in Cape Verde and offers delightful Italian cuisine with Sardinian influences.

Alessandro, the owner, acts as your very own Italian host as you dine at Leonardo Cafe. He offers each guest a complimentary glass of wine while explaining the delicious menu and then makes suggestions for your meal. The lovely restaurant interior is a converted old house that is both spacious and full of atmosphere-- you will notice the sandstone and free stone walls and the high wooden beams. The classic bar area opens up to a cozy, warm and intimate room. The immaculately laid tables tucked into inviting corners are ideal for a romantic meal.

The main dining room is beautifully decorated with romantic lighting and a delightful wooden staircase in the corner which takes you up to the first floor. There you will find additional seating as well as a private room and terrace which is available for large parties.

A newer addition upstairs is an open air lounge and bar--an ideal location to enjoy a cocktail, sample a fine wine and enjoy the night sky.
